Remember when Biore first brought out their pore strips?  I was all over that stuff.  A piece of tape that cured blackheads and got out all the gunk from my pores?  Yes please.  It was very satisfying to look at the strip once I’d pulled it off.   I haven’t used them for a while, partly because they’re a little pricey and I just forget to buy them.  Then when I have a few moments in the day for a beauty treatment (almost never) I find I don’t have them handy.

Did you know you can make your own pore strips?  Yep.  This is from Cut Out & Keep.  It works!

What you will need for Make Your Own Pore Strips:

  1. Makeup brush (foundation brush or flat brush used for hair highlighting will work)
  2. 1 tsp gelatin (found in packets at any grocery store, next to Jello)
  3. 1 tsp milk – I used 2%, though I’m not sure it matters
  4. Small microwaveable dish

Pour milk and gelatin into bowl, microwave until thick (about 10-12 seconds).  Dip your brush in the mix and test to see if it’s hot (but not too hot).  Brush over your nose.  I brushed it over my cheeks and chin as well, since I had a little extra.  Now, wait 10 minutes or so and peel off!  I only made it about 9 minutes because I was impatient, but it still worked.  Easy peasy.
